A Total Nightmare

It was an absolutely terrible nightmare. We didn’t get to join the tour at all as the tour guide texted us at the last minute for a change of meeting place to the Mexico border instead of in front of McDonald’s where we were waiting for more than an hour. He did not call us although he missed two tourists. We rushed to the Mexico border at 1:10pm and tried to text and call him numerous times trying to find out where we could meet up and connect with the tour but did not get any response. We ended up turning around and waited two hours in line to get back to the U.S. side since we didn’t know where to go. We also paid $24 for parking for a totally wasted vacation day which we had looked forward to. The company was so irresponsible, irresponsive, and their client service was totally unacceptable.

An awesome tour with an awesome tour guide!

Let me first say Tadeo our tour guide was nothing but AMAZING!! If we were under the impression that we would be met at McDonald's but we quickly learned we had to cross the border on our own..we were skeptical and scared to do this but Tadeo quickly sent a picture of himself so we would know who to look for and he stayed on the phone with us until we reached each other. Once we met him, we knew we were in good hands. He explained what we would do throughout the tour and off we went. Tadeo explained the history of Mexico and all the sights we were crossing. He made sure we had water, stopped to have tacos and we margaritas. He took plenty of pictures with our cameras and his for memories. He never let is stray from him and made sure we were safe. He made sure we got back to the border and back in the states before departing. If I was to ever go to Tijuana again, I would definitely request Tadeo. It is rare you find someone so passionate about what they do but this guy, loves it!

The full experience of TJ in 4 hours

I went on this tour by myself and felt totally safe, even when I needed to cross the border by myself to meet our guide due to Covid restrictions. We got to see and experience all different parts of TJ from the Catholic church to drinks on a rooftop bar to eating food at a local restaurant. Four hours felt like a good amount of time to get a full experience of the city. Our guide was also really helpful in giving us info on how to cross back over into the U.S.

The tour guide met us on the Mexico side and was a little difficult to find. However, he called us personally to make sure we found him which was a huge help! The walk was interesting and informational. We had a great lunch, tequila taste testing, and time for shopping.

I booked this tour for myself and two friends. We all received different levels of communication. If we weren't together I don't think we would have made it to the meeting location. Once on the tour our guide wasn't engaging. We decided to do our own thing.

Great way to explore Tijuana!

Victor was an excellent guide. He has a college education from both Mexico and US so he’s familiar with customs and traditions of both. It was an informative, interesting, yummy, and safe tour of downtown Tijuana. Our 13 year old loved the tour too. We recommend the quesadillas! Tips: Plan extra time to figure out where to park and find the border crossing especially during Covid restrictions when US citizens can cross the border but our Mexican guide cannot. Bathrooms on the US side require 2 quarters. Bring dollar bills to buy souvenirs and additional treats or food- Shops accept pesos and dollars but usually only have change in pesos.
