Doors Off Air Kauai Helicopter Tour

Friendly and professional staff. Very detailed and well managed, with safety as a priority. Our pilot, Adam, made us feel safe on our doorless adventure and his narration was both historical and specific to Kauai. Only suggestion I have is to limit the number of passengers to five from six for comfort and ease of those photographing.

This was our most anticipated activity for the vacation and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend taking the "doors-off" ride for the best views and feel. It almost felt like I can reach out and touch those majestic mountains and waterfalls. I went with my partner and his mother who needed assistance as she has a disability. The team there was very supportive and although they didn't directly help her onboard, they were there guiding us on how to help her get onto the helicopter. About our pilot, Kelby, he was AMAZING! He had curated the best music list for the ride (that was in sync with the location we were flying over. E.g. imagine listening to the Jurrassic park theme music while flying over the Manawaiopuna Falls.. :D mind-blowing) and the best narration throughout. The helicopters are fitted with multiple cameras that constantly records the entire ride and view along with the narration/music and you can buy the entire video at the end of the ride. Be mindful that not everyone in your party may get a window seat. They prepare the seating arrangement based on individual weight, but regardless of that you get amazing views from pretty much anywhere in the Helicopter. Also, it's not scary, the ride was pretty comfortable and you feel pretty snug in your seat the whole time. If you are sitting in one of the window seats in the back theres no handle to hold onto, so they recommend grabbing the roof edge, so if you fly through rain, you may feel the rain prickling your hands, but thats about it. Really worth-it

Our tour was cancelled 2 hours before we were supposed to fly due to “radio issues”. While I completely understand that anything can happen and safety is a priority, this company did nothing to try to accommodate a different flight on another day or offer anything for our trouble. We planned our entire trip around this activity and because it was cancelled so late, we were unable to reschedule. This was the biggest disappointment of our trip.

My first-time experience on a helicopter left me with wonderful memories! It felt like a living-on-the-edge experience, watching untouched beauty that has evolved over countless ages! Just wonderful! Take this single step of booking this ride, and a mesmerising experience awaits you all!

Our tour guide was great, the staff was friendly. Highly recommend doors off, it is a rush and the guide took us to all the best stops. Best way to see Kauai!

It may seem expensive, but, this really is a must do. I loved the fly overs of the NaPali Coast. Absolutely beautiful. The open door was really cool - you didn’t have to peer through a rain spattered or dirty window to see the sights. I wish I could have brought my gopro which was on a gimbal, but, understand that the wind really whips through the cabin so you could lose handle of it. They do give you a necklace to put your phone in so you can shoot - its hard to keep the camera steady though with the wind in the cabin. I think the best seats are the outside seat behind the pilot, and the front seat next to the pilot. They number your positions so you may want to ask which seat #s those are so you can get them. The only improvement I would suggest is to fly up and down the NaPali coast so the people on the outside seats have the experience of going along the cliffs.

The scenery was absolutely amazing. The pilot Kelby was Great and his music selection was awesome. Perfect way to see Waimea Canyon and Na Pali Coast. Having 4 adults in back seat was definitely uncomfortable. The two people in the front should be instructed to stay in their area when taking pictures instead of being allowed to lean behind the pilot. From the back seat she blocked a lot of photo ops.

Unparalleled birds-eye views make this experience a must! Took my wife and two adult daughters in the doors off helicopter and felt completely safe while taking in unobstructed views of the spectacular scenes. Pilot Adam was fantastic and very helpful with information about everything we saw.

Majestic views the entire trip. Our pilot was excellent, which made the experience so much more enjoyable. Highly recommend the tour!
